Nordplus Adult project‘s kick-off meeting in Klaipėda

On 14-16 November 2014 the first partners meeting under Nordplus Adult Thematic Network project „Tourism Development Challenges in Nordic and Baltic Countries“ took place in Klaipėda, Lithuania.
The main aim of the project – to create the network of adult education centers and other organizations, working in the field of tourism in geographically isolated regions in Nordic and Baltic countries. The network will seek to combat with seasonal tourism problems, decrease unemployment rate and foster touristic attractiveness of geographically disadvantaged places. By striving to implement its mission the network will collect best practices of sustainable and innovative tourism business, prepare new adult learning programmes and renew the old ones, analyse tourism situation in network countries, give suggestions for improvement tourism situation for decision-making institutions.
During partners meeting in Lithuania the administrative issues of project were discussed. Guests visited Curonian Spit and Palanga, presented their institutions and geographical area. There were many conversations about seasonal tourism challenges in partners countries.

This project – it is the result of Nordplus Contact Seminar in Stokholm, which took place in the autumn of 2013.
