Job shadowing in Bulgaria under Erasmus+ project

On 6-8 September ERCC staff participated in events of project "Towards Excellence in Cultural Tourism Network" under Europe for Citizens programme in Sandanski city – in partners meetings and discussions, Alley of Art and Craft, song festival "Pirin Folk", cultural tourism objects and events. Project coordinator - Association "EUni Partners". Municipality of Sandanski - partner of this project. 
Skills acquired: project management, organization of international events, cultural tourism marketing, collaboration with Bulgarian and foreign municipalities.
On 9-10 September ERCC staff visited "EUni partners" office in Blagoevgrad city and made acquaintance with activities of Association, its establishment history, structure, work methods. ERCC attended Radio Bulgaria – Blagoevgrad, Regional Television Center Blagoevgrad, Regional administration Blagoevgrad, Association of South-Western Municipalities, National Humanitarian High School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”. "EUni partners" presented international project "European Route of Legends".
Skills acquired: communication and collaboration with local and regional government institutions, other social partners, kitais socialiniais partneriais, creation international touristic routes, project fundraising, preparation and implementation, management of non-governmental organization.
On 11-12 September archeological trip to Rila Mountains with Associations‘ research leader, prof. Vasil Markov, archeologist. from “Neofit Rilsky” university and representative from Regional administration Blagoevgrad Mrs. Miglena Bacheva took place. This is an essential part of the work of the Association, which is basically the first step of the process of integrating a particular region into a cultural tourist route. The team explored the region for several days focusing on: accessibility, infrastructure, tourist facilities, cultural heritage, preserved traditions, rites, rituals, ability of local people to develop tourist attractions, quality of services, etc. This step is followed by an evaluation and building a strategy for the inclusion of the region, including: evaluation, a marketing strategy, development strategy with short-term and long-term measures to be taken by local authorities and stakeholders, propositions for development of new attractions, trainings, etc.
Skills acquired: creation of cultural touristic routes, cross-sectoral collaboration among organisations.
On 13-15 September ERCC staff departure to Bansko and Plovdiv, visited hotel “Elegant Bansko” and guest house “Old Plovdiv”, the owners of which told about organization of touristic routes and services in their area.
Skills acquired: creation of cultural touristic routes, collaboration with business sector working in the field of tourism.
