IN GREEN SHAPE project meeting in Lithuania

During the third partners meeting guests from Italy, Austria and United Kingdom visited Klaipėda and its surroundings. Partnership together with learners aims to share best practice examples of sustainable business in rural area and create green itineraries for tourists.
The first day was dedicated to visit best practice examples indicated by Lithuanian partner – ERCC.
In the morning partners were exploring Saulius Baniulis farmstead. The owners Saulius and Airida Baniuliai growing ecological vegetables in hothouse, helding horse riding club and organising various events in farmstead. The farmstead itself is located in historical place – near old road, on the former border between 2 states – East Prussia and Lithuania. Here all partners discussed the running matters of project – progress of activities of participating institutions, dissemination tools carried out so far and evaluation of Austria meeting.
After lunch partnership spend the time in ecological homestead of Zofija Tikuišienė - "Gandrų dvaras" („The House of Storks“). Together with owner of homestead, doctor-homoeopath Mrs. Zofija partners experienced herbal tourism.
Both Lithuanian best practice examples will be involved into green itinerary for tourists – „The Quite Beauty of Lutheran Churches of Lithuania Minor“.
During the second meeting day partners visited Curonian Spit, which is the destination of other 2 green itineraries to be created by ERCC – „By the Route of Queen Luise“ and „The Struggle of Shifting Sand“. In Nida steering committee of project discussed the issues of designing of itineraries maps.
